Whoa~ At Long Last, An Update~ ^ ^
   Friday, December 23, 2005

Well well well... Guess what? I finally decided to update my blog. (Yes, John Yen~ You got what you wanted, ey?) Haven't really found the time to blog all these while. My 3rd semester in Medical course isn't really all that smooth sailing. I've got my exams coming on the 10th and the 14th of January. 2 major exams... 2 major subjects... And when I say I have lots to study, I mean it.... I HAVE LOTS TO STUDY. But even before that, I've other little class exams to clear. You see, at the end of the semester before we are permitted to take our exams, we are obligated to finish (and pass) all our class exams. With every single topic we have studied, we have to give an exam on it. For example, Histology. We studied the digestive and respiratory system together, and there was an exam after the last topic in respiratory system. The amount of exams we need to give.. (don't be shocked!) mounts up to 12!!! Why 12, you may ask. We have to give an exam on the tongue, the tooth, the development of the tooth, the esophagus, the stomach, the small intestine, the large intestine, pancreas, liver, olfactory portion and conductive portion of respiratory system. Thats not all... More have been piled onto it as we just finished our last class for histology. The Urogenital system. Therefore everyday, its about clearing exams. One thing for sure, I thank GOD that I managed to clear my exams in anatomy. It isn't as ridiculous as Histology though. Managed to clear the last exam with a 5! My first 5 since a year ago!!! hahahah.... How weird is that?

Well... I hope this explanation is enough for me to get back into the good books of all you people out there, who have been constantly checking my blog. Got to go now... Wanting to study Microbiology.. Exam later in 5 hours time. AND JUST IN CASE!!! I just want to wish everybody a Merry Christmas! and also a Happy New Year. I will be celebrating a White Christmas this year!! muahahahaha.... ^ ^

Love,
Ian

Finals Over~
   Friday, July 01, 2005

Wow~! Phew~! Finally... its over.... It sure has been a long 2 weeks.  Having to overcome the first hurdle which is Chemistry... The rest didn't really matter anymore. Chemistry was regarded as the toughest paper there is among all. On the first day when chemistry started, 48 students sat for the paper. And guess what? There were 25 failures. Wasn't much of an encouragement was it? Looking at the fact that my exam was the third day. Was really worried at that point because... 2 more days till doomsday, and I only had only finished a quarter of all 256 questions. Out of the 256... only 8 questions will be coming out. It wasn't good. Having to only complete around 64 questions with 2 more days to go wasn't good. It was crazy! I am really testifying that I have seen GOD really faithful throughout my exams. He has really been there... I am not saying this on a basis of me getting easy questions or what-so-ever. But it was by His grace that I managed to actually pull through my exams. I couldn't have done it by my own strength. Managed to get straight 4's for all my exams. Thanking GOD for what He has given me. Though I hoped to have done better in my chemistry and biology exam. It doesn't matter.. I'm homeward bound. I'm going back on the 19th.... Going to rot here in Ukraine until the day I board the plane. Hahahaha... Sad ain't it? Might make a trip up to Kiev spontaneously. Or any place else for the matter. Will see... Still undecided. Planned trips never work. Thats why decided to actually do things spontaneously. That would be better. No second thoughts.

Since I haven't been blogging for quite awhile, let me update you guys on some things. The issue concerning the de-recognition of my university? It never bothered me. I'm just saying this. Nothing is going to stop me from achieving my dreams. Even if I've got to migrate from this country of which I have regarded as the best, I would. There are somethings that are really inevitable. I'm not a perfect student. I'm not an excellent one either. I am just trying my really best to be the best doctor one could ever be. I came to CSMU with a second chance in the palms of my hands. And I'm sure I speak for a whole lot of other students too. Many atimes we are unable to actually pursue to career we want, but when you see that glimmer of hope... I grasp it with all your might. I don't know how many people out there actually realises that. But as for me, I'm going to to just that. Hold it so close to me and never let it go.

Before the exams started, I was watching the movie Bad Boys. I'm sure most of you have seen it before. Got a quote from there... :

"We ride together, We die together... Bad Boys for life!"

After seeing that quote, many things have change. I am not going to mention anything personal here.. But it is really cool. Life sprung alive due to a few factors and this was one of them. Another thing that really lightened up my life is also personal. And I don't intend to tell it out just yet. But to you guys who are really close to me. You know what I'm talking about don't you?

Am at Bro Kevin's house now. Having a headache. And tonight's going to be another all-nighter? hahahaha..... DOTA~~!!!! or maybe even watching movies. Or more likely because I'm going to be spending some time with a friend who moved out of the hostels. He came back tonight and he is going to stay over. That is going to be cool...

Oh.. Before I forget... Made really good friends who saw me through my exams all the way. I didn't sleep in my own bed for almost 2 weeks. These guys' names are David and Chiang Wei. These guys are my seniors... And they have been really supportive in my studying. Staying up all night just accompanying me as I was mugging through my studying. Love you guys. May GOD bless the works of your hands always... *hugz*

Cheers,
Ian

Two entries at one go~ Sorry people!!!
   Monday, May 23, 2005

Hey there people!! You guys must be wondering... "Wow! Look who finally decided to update his blog!" Well, I'm not going to blame you having such a thought. Can't help it if I'm busy, but please accept my humble apologies. Its exactly one month till my finals. Still got lots of things to clear. (I mean exams!)

Anatomy:
1) Veins and Lymphatics
2) Brain Stem and Spinal Cord

Histology:
1) Embryology
2) Epithelium
3) Connective Tissues
4) Blood
5) Cartilage
6) Nerves
7) Muscles

So many exams to clear. And I have only about 2 weeks to clear all of them. By hope or by crook, I have to clear them, or else risk killing myself. Anyways, I'm entrying 2 things which happened recently over here. 1st of is a football tournament of which I took part in with m contractor and friends. Its was a sunday morning when we set of towards the indoor court. All of us were so nervous about what we were going to do and how we were going to do. I'm just going to skip the long-aunty-stories and get straight to the results. We won 2 games and lost 2. Just missed qualifying for the quarterfinals by 1 point. It sure was a bummer, but definitely an extraordinary experience. In anyways, we enjoyed out time and we're already planning for our team next year. Here are the pictures:

Team "KAMIKAZE"

Don't mess with me!! (Wei Hong and Teik Chee R->L)

"GO TEAM KAMIKAZE!!" a huddle...

Oooo... A glimpse of me!

Glimpse of me #2

After it all... A sore foot and ankle.. The team.

There you go... That is the end of entry number one. Just a little information, next year, there is going to be 2 teams entering any tournaments. Kamikaze 1 and Kamikaze 2. Keep a lookout for us. Hahahaha... =D

Next is something quite recent. Brother Al has a daughter named Stephanie. She just graduated from High School (home school) and she's going back to the States to continue her studies back there. So her boyfriend, Glen, decided to give her a surprise prom night. For people back at home, no, this isn't some grand prom, but it was just a little something for Stephanie to remember before she goes back. It is the best we could do for her since she was home-schooled. It turned out great. Played some games and had a little skit on how Stephanie and Glen met. Stephanie was truly surprised that night. Glad to have you as a friend Steph!! And hope to keep in touch and meet you again soon!

Glen and Stephanie cutting the "Congratulations!" cake

Well, as you can see... No explanations needed.

All who were there

Steph and I

Shin Lert and I

Kwong Yew and the 2 Reubens (P.S: the Reuben on the right is related to Arthur Kam!!)

Thats all for now. Currently feeling very stressed concerning tomorrow's exam on brains. Pray with me. And wait on a good news!

Cheers,
Ian

*yawn*.... Finally the long awaited report on the conference... and also everything else
   Saturday, April 23, 2005

Hello there.... Hahahaha.. Sorry for the absence. Haven't really been free enough to blog. Wow! Its almost a month since I last blogged. This is bad isn't it? I guess I kind of lost the passion to blog. Though it doesn't take up much time. Sorry, my bad. Anyways, lets cut to the chase. I'm awake at 5:25am in front of my computer doing my assignment for anatomy right now, and feeling a little heavy headed and grouchy. Not really the feeling that I like to dwell in. Here goes the report concerning the conference:

IBC Conference 2005
A conference was held in Alushta for Christians from the International Bible Church. Target of this conference is to gear the Christians who are willing, for evangelism. All of us went there without knowing most of each other and came back with a united heart. And of course without a doubt, we came back with our hearts anew and refreshed in the fire of the Lord. Burning hot... *sizzles*

We left on a friday, right after class in a bus. As everybody made their way to the bus, I decided to throw some football with a few guys, Kwong Yew, David, Isaac and Jacob. As the the people fill the seats, we took out leave and boarded the bus. The next thing you know, we had the feel or our first obstruction/obstacle. The head of security of our university came and asked what was happening. Well, obviously we  told him thr truth from the bottom of our hearts. He claimed that for us to leave the university, we needed to inform the dean's office and get some necessary paperwork done. We didn't know there was such procedure. Nevertheless, it was amazing how GOD worked.. This was the first time in the conference of which everybody just joined together in prayer, unified! 2 minutes later, off we go. Away from the hostels for the weekend, and a time entirely spent with GOD himself. It felt great.

We arrived at Alushta in about 2 hours. After getting our rooms and dropping off our bags, we took our showers and took off to the cafetaria for our dinner. It was really cold that night, and thank GOD I decided to take a hot bath before going out. We had mashed potato with meat patties for dinner. Initially when Steven and I saw what was placed on the table, we were like.... *scrunged up face* hahahahaha.. =D We gobbled down our dinner and had plenty of bread to fill those empty spaces in the stomach and finally lots of hot tea to wash it all down. After the not-so-hearty meal, we had our first session. Sister Renee shared on this. She shared her testimony of how GOD worked in her life. It was really touching... And most importantly, the message was sent across. We were stuck in a room which had no heater but still, we listened intently to every word she had to say. [mind you, we were reaching a point where we can see the air we breathed out] After the first session, we headed back to our rooms. There was supper prepared... Cookies, juices, milk and etc etc... but none of it looked appealing to me though. Turned in..

The next day, woke up early in the morning to do my quiet time. I'm telling you! This was my turning point.. From the conference onwards, my quiet time with GOD blasted off. I start doing things of which I really never expect myself doing. Being able to wake up to the alarm at 6 in the morning and spending time with GOD. Lovely! Never felt the better in my life. Anyways, Had a couple of sessions than we played American Football. It was so cool! hahaha.... learned alot about the game. Worship led during the night session. And the day was wrapped up once again by supper~ :)

Prepared to leave back for the hostels after that. It was really a great time, but unfortunately, its time to face the world again. We've gone there to be equipped and to be unified, and that took place. We all got to know each other better and we were stronger in Christ. Guess what happened on the way back to Church from camp? The bus broke down.. Twice! The first time it took place, it on the mountain where we overlooked the valley. Anyways... I'll just let the pictures do the talking... *quoted from Wuan Zhu's blog* hahahaha...

Only 3 days of classes... but...
   Wednesday, March 09, 2005

Whoa.... Only 3 days worth of classes. What do you think? hehehe... We celebrated the International Women's Day yesterday, and also Steven's Birthday. It was fun. Stayed over at Bro. Kev's for the past few days.... Since Saturday night right up to yesterday. Was cool. Did everything from watching Superbowl [American Football], to playing the game itself [Wow, I learned how to throw the ball], playing Taboo [leaders who went for the leadership camp '03 at Genting... you know what I mean], watching tons of movies, and not to mention, STUDY~!!! Staying at Bro. Kev's really makes me feel like home. So cool...

Mei Sin also left yesterday. It was a really sad to see her leave. Her groupmates were devastated, especially their Starosta [Chief], Kien Seng. All of them were really close together. It breaks my heart to see them part, moreover Mei Sin also happen to be a close friend. I really am a sucker for parting situations. Managed to hold back those watergates from opening. Despite all these sadness..... There is one thing to rejoice for. Mei Sin accepte Christ as Lord and Saviour the night before she left. Thanks to Kwong Yew for his determination to spread GOD's word. Praises to GOD Almighty. The whole heaven rejoices!!

Woke up today feeling really sick. Bad throat. Have been expelling phlegm containing blood in it. Kind of freaky if you ask me. Told Sis Renee about it and she said I should go see a doctor. There might be chances of me catching pneumonia. Hmmm.... Probably I should. Will probably do it tomorrow. Studying Histology now.. Will be re-working 2 classes of Histology later today. And I've got anatomy exam tomorrow... 2nd attempt for the exam on the urogenital system. Then AFTER THAT!!! ON FRIDAY!!!! I've got histology exam. Wonderful ain't it? Honestly speaking, I'm really looking forward to friday. This is because on friday night, we'll be departing for the "Sanatorium" to have a conference organized by church. Its going to be sort of like a getaway from the hostels... (not like I haven't been doing much of that... *snickers*)

Snowing really heavily outside. Really wondering why is that. We've gone into Spring but I guess, winter is just one stubborn dude. Don't wanna leave without a big bang. hahaha... :D Looking out my window and its all white. :p

Thats all I've got to say for now. Got to get back to studying.

Cheers,
Ian

Just do my best I guess.

Today is really really cold. It was not even below 0 degrees. Bad, bad, bad... It was really like a snow-storm today. Snow cum strong wind. Not a good combination. Today has been a real tiring day. Going to finish off now. =) Jie jie and all making steamboat. Nice, nice.... Can't wait...

Can't believe it... another long week coming... T.T
   Sunday, February 27, 2005

hello...... I'm back with yet another entry. Just came back from Social Night cum Installation for the Malaysian Chinese Student Association (MCSA). [check that out.... my name's inside!!!] It was also an appreciation night for those who helped out for the Chinese New Year celebrations. By the way, I didn't blog about that. It was a success! I was on PA and Lightings, nevertheless my sub-ordinates or I would prefer calling, my colleagues did a GREAT job! Without them, it wouldn't be a success. I trully thank GOD for what HE has provided me with... especially the people around me. Just came back from Martini Bar. Okay... I know your reaction to these, but NO... I didn't have any alcohol. I had a milk shake... hehehehe.... It was quite nice considering it is a bar. Everyone laughed at me, they were drinking drinks by the name of... "Sex on the Beach" hahaha... but I take pride in the Lord for I only reacted to them with a smile. Praise GOD for that. I was tempted nonetheless countless times, but I chose to say no. Thank GOD for His strength. :) Going to change and then head to jie jie's place now. Want to talk abit with her, and also... to STUDY!!!!!!!!! haih..... As the title goes, another long week ahead. Oh well, have fun!!

Cheers,
Ian
