Finally i got the pictures unto photobucket... haih... really really slow. Anyways, here they are... ![]() All of us together at the shore. ![]() The 3 of us.. Kwong Yew, David and I.. Lovely roommates.. ![]() An addition of Teng Rong to our "trio" ![]() In front of the "Panaroma" ![]() Yet another Group photo.. :) Thats all I have for now.... Going to be posting even more pictures from latest events.. Like Chinese New Year. Happy Chinese New Year to all who are lost in a foreign land and may you have a good rooster year. As for those back in Malaysia, well I guess same to you guys.. hahahaha.... Got to run. Exam tomorrow. Cheers, Ian Sevastopol Trip~ Sunday, January 30, 2005
WoW.... It sure is one heck of a tiring day. Woke up this morning at 8:15am and was like... "OH NO~! WE'RE LATE!!" both Kwong Yew and David up and quickly packed our bags, freshen up up and headed to the lobby of the 1st Hostel. When we arrived there, we found out that we were not the only ones late. *a sigh of relief* Waited till 8:45am and everyone has arrived finally. We were all ready to rock and roll' until we found out that Bryan left his student cheski back in the room. [Just for your information, a student cheski is something is of great importance. Foreign students found without it may and can be locked up if found without it.] So, everyone crashed back onto the couch while waiting for Bryan. When he got it, it was about 9 something already. Late, but we were all still hyped up. (Well, you've got to give us the benefit of the doubt because it was out first outing) It was a beautiful day, not too sunny and not too cold. Just nice! Walked to the mashoot [van like vehicles] station and got ourselves a mashoot for 300 Grievens which comes up to about RM210. When we saw the mashoot, we got a shock. Because there was no way 12 of us were going to fit into that mashoot. There wasn't enough space. So the driver decided to get a friend of his to help out and our journey started. It was an approximate 1 and a half hours drive from Simferopol to Sevastopol. I am in a dilemma of describing my journey there as one that is full with joy or sorrow... *grins* Well, it was interesting that we had a whole bunch of people trying to be their very own Mariah Carey or Whitney Houston.... and as for the guys, Robbie Williams or Henry Seeley... (Well, I'm also guilty as charged *evil grin*) We sang from chinese songs to the oldies of the english ones. By doing this, we killed time like nobody business.. (but i wonder if we killed the driver's ears or not... =p) We finally reach our first destination. The Panorama of Sevastopol. [don't know if thats the real name] This place is built in commemoration of the Ukrainian war between France, England and Russia. Really interesting... (though I didn't like history that much when I was back in school) Inside was a historical painting of the war which took place in Sevastopol. Really intruiging. Its amazing how an artist could actually paint a picture that big to fill the whole dome/hall. And it was so real. (Wondering if I should put the pictures now or not.... since the photobucket is taking such a long time to load the pictures, I guess I'll do it later than.) The picture was so detailed that we even saw a man named Pirogov. [This man is the father of topography anatomy] We were blessed with a real nice tour guide. She could speak in ENGLISH!!!!! If not so, we'll all just die of boredom. She was full of emotions when she was explaining the facts on the war. Though her english wasn't very good, but she used words which will tell you that she reads alot. If I were an examiner of 1119, I would give her an A for speech. Moving on..... We bought loads of souvenirs. Cheap.. but they all look great. hehehehe.... Will be going to more places soon. Hopefully... Kwong Yew is already talking about going to Egypt. Hehehe.. So we'll see la. :) Will post the pictures soon... (hopefully: *blink**blink*) Cheers, Ian Pictures.... more pictures... Thursday, January 06, 2005

Cheers, Ian Whoa.... It sure has been a long time since i last blogged. Really can't find the time to do so for the past few weeks. It has been filled with various things from studies to festivities. Right now I am currently busy with muscles. I am suppose to sit for my muscles exam today, but unfortunately my teacher cancelled the class today and postponed the exam to this coming saturday. This isn't really something I was looking forward to. Really wanted to just sit for my exam on muscles and get it over with. So much to remember. And I was really down when my teacher announced concerning class today. Well, lets head on to something more happy. I finished my chemistry classes today and am officially off the hook regarding that subject. A few others have finished also but right now I'm only left with anatomy, history of medicine and biology. Other subjects have already finished and I'm thankful for it. Finally, its all done. Oh... not to forget, I still have Russian. hahahaha... Life has been great so far. Nothing much has happened since Christmas. Oh yes, by the way, this friday (which is tomorrow), we're going to celebrate the Russian Christmas Day. And YES!! Their Christmas Day is on the 7th of January. Not bad right? hahahaha... celebrating Christmas twice a year isn't that bad at all. Wondering if it is a tradition here also to give presents... *grins* I'm so tired now. Only slept at 4am.... Really hoped to sit for my anatomy exam on the muscles today. Oh well, I guess I'll just take it as more time for preparation. I want to share a little concerning Brother Al's message on Sunday. It was a really good sermon. He named his sermon as, "Doors." He talks about the doors of our life, the doors of our heart. Sometimes, GOD is knocking at the doors of our heart, but we just don't realise it. Just as the song "Amazed" goes.. :- "You dance over me, While I am unaware, Phillipians 4:13 says, And Matthew 11: 28 says, "Come to me all you weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." GOD really works in many ways. Ways that are not comprehendable to us, thats why we have faith. I pray that all new resolutions will be kept and may GOD's blessings bestow upon every single person. GOD bless... and happy new year.... Cheers, Ian White white Christmas... Friday, December 24, 2004
hey there..... wow... I'm losing my touch in blogging really. Its been such a long time since I last blogged. Well, work is piling so, don't really have the time to blog nowadays. Anyways, putting that behind, just to fill you guys with some details, IT'S SNOWING~!!!!!! hahaha.... or more like... its snowed. The snow outside isn't really that thick but, it is really nice. Everything white in colour outside. Was really 'jakun' when I first saw snow. hehehe... (Wouldn't everyone be the same?) Yesterday played snow. Threw snowballs here and there at friends. Was really fun. However, I was smart enough to get myself injured. Fell down while running away from an attack. Slipped and landed on my butt. As our good friend Newton said in his 1st law, motion is constant as long as there is no external force acting upon the body. Well, I'm the body, and the floor was covered with ice. Therefore, Friction = 0. Continued sliding and only stopped when I collided with a lamp-post. My Tibia (Foreleg) hit onto the lamp-post and I spinned a little. Went back to my room limping. When I took off my jeans to check out my injury, it was bleeding. I had a deep cut in the fore-leg. It was quite bad actually. Then got some antiseptic cream applied, then later Mellie brought some yellow solution over and applied again, later that night went to Ivy's and then applied again.... but this time it was H2O2!!!! (hydrogen peroxide) It was so painful. But I guess I deserved it though. Oh well, you've got to pay for your own mistakes right? Anyways, I'm fine now. Its 8:47am in the morning, Kwong Yew and Soon Chen are still sleeping. I'm copying my Econs notes and looking for info for my culture. Got to go... Will post pictures very soon. Hope to find time to blog soon... Bye bye... Cheers, Ian Cultural Day~! Wednesday, December 15, 2004
Wow... back in the room at last. Its been a long day... Started off with PT (Physical Training). Did the usual stuff la... Running, warm-up and then some futsal.. After that had Biophysics lecture. Read a little on the joints then went to do what I do best... zzzzzzzzzz.... Next on the list was Russian. Learned a couple of new words. Learned about adverbs and stuff like that... Next was Economics. Teacher forgot to give us our hometask the last week. So she couldn't proceed with class. Because there was nothing we can do... So she told us to do our own work. (yay~! a free period!) Listed down the ligaments of the whole body with Shiau Fui. Only completed until the hand joints then it was time for culture. Supposed to have test today for Culture, but then like the title goes... it is Cultural Day. So we went to watch a show held in the Cultural Hall. It was really good... But unfortunately, was not in the right physique to continue watching. Have a headache.. Got lots of work to catch up with.. So I needed to rest.... Going to sleep soon... Before I do that... Just want welcome my good friend back to Ukraine. Thank GOD for bringing him through all the ordeal and thank GOD for bringing him back to Ukraine to continue his studies safely. May GOD continue to bless him in all he does. I'm sorry that this entry is extremely short but I really can't carry on... Need sleep... Ciaoz.. Cheers, Ian BTW..... THESE ARE PICTURES FROM THE CULTURAL SHOW....

![]() The Kuritsae Salad ![]() (From Left:) Soon Chen, Myself, Soo Bee [birthday girl] and Lily ![]() Lily ![]() Soo Bee next to a torturing equipment in the medieval days. ![]() Soon Chen's turn at the tortuing device.. ![]() Soon Chen on a torturing chair? ![]() Birthday Girl once again~!!!! Thats all Folks~! Cheers, Ian Wow! Why am I not surprised that I have yet another long week ahead of me? I guess thats what you gain after being in a medical university for 3 months. Only 3 months and it already feels like a year. But one thing I am really surprised at....... the days seems to be passing alot faster too. Its already 3 months since we've been in Ukraine. And we are finishing our 1st semester soon also. This is nuts, but I am getting closer to going back to Malaysia. I've got lots of tests and two exam this coming week. I've got Biology test tomorrow, on Tuesday I've got both my skeleton exam and my joints exam for anatomy, on Wednesday I've got Culture test, on thursday its a killer...... History of Medicine and Chemistry test. And guess what? I'm already starting muscles for anatomy by then. I am so going to die. I've got problems with my joints. The knee joint is super complicated. It is dubbed to be the most difficult joint in the whole body. In addition to that, I've got the vertebrae joint and the skull joints to do. So much to do, but yet... so little time. Today, I went to a restaurant named Topo. It is a restaurant which serves western food. This particular restaurant is decorated in a medieval style. And it is really an eye-opener for a "jakun" Malaysian to go in there. (I'm refering to myself.... =p) They had various things there hanging on the walls and the furniture are solid wood. Really really nice. It is not brightly-litted but this creates a really dungeon kind of feeling. It is really cool. I'll be posting the pictures below and go ahead and take a peek at it. 4 of us went, Soon Chen, Lily, Soo Bee (the reason we even end up in a restaurant... it was her birthday on friday..) and myself. We paid about 101 Grievens... which would be around RM70.70 It is not that expensive. We had a chicken salad and a pizza for all of us to share, and then we had our own main course each. Both Soon Chen and I had beef, and the ladies had pork. (hahaha... we can't get this back in Malaysia!!). Not to mention 2 bottles of pepsi. Hehehee.... We didn't know how to order anything else unless we wanted to end up drinking liquor. Came back then Melissa made white hot chocolate. Was really good! This is the second time she made it. The first time was a test-run and we were made her guinea pigs. Hehehehe.... But it tasted great. Today she made a batch of it for almost 10 people. We are planning of starting a business too. Sell one cup of it for about 2 Grievens. Real white HOT chocolate at your doorstep during winter. Wouldn't it be nice? Sitting in your room.. next to the heater and looking out the window, sipping white hot chocolate... hahaha... I've already started my promotion. Sorry to those back in Malaysia. Can't accomodate to you. hehehe... ^^ Got to hit the books now. Looks like no sleep again for today. Cheers, Ian Sick and Busy~ Friday, December 10, 2004
Haih..... another day has passed. Wow~! It was only last week when I had my skull exam. And now, my joints exam is approaching already. Its next week~! Exams after exams.. really hectic. No time to actually come on to blog. So sorry to those who visit my blog on a constant basis ya? Will try to blog on a more frequent basis. Had anatomy again today... Why do I say it was a close shave? I didn't study much on the shoulder joints, elbow joints and wrist joints. By the way, I'm sick! Again! ARGH!! Its not a good thing to be sick and you have work piled up on your desk. Haih... I'm sighing again. 2 days ago, Shiau Fui asked me why do I sigh so much.. Sometimes I wonder that too. Probably I just keep too many things in my mind for nothing... Burdening myself for nothing... Want to talk about something happy that happened yesterday. Ah Ma called me~! hahahaa... Asked Alex to do me a really big favour that is to buy an IDD card for me and pass it to her. She tried so hard to call me.. Trying various methods to try call me. Finally when she got through, I could really feel the relieve to my excitement. Was so glad to hear her voice after such a long time. (Love you ah ma...) Then another thing which happened (which have something to do with listening to voice too...) was when I called abang... (Calvin Tay = my menthor). Has been a long long time... And it was the first time I called him after arriving in Ukraine. Talked to him like I have never before and I trully thank GOD for that. On the overall, it has been a happy week. Well.. there are definitely slight bumps on the road right? But I'm happy that I had to go through all those and approach the end of the week with a smile. Got to hit the books again. Re-sitting for my skeleton this saturday. Pray for me ok? Hopefully I'll get the 5 I want. Ciaoz... Cheers, Ian The (new and improved) church in Ukraine Sunday, December 05, 2004
